This live poster was made for the course Design for Science Education and Communication 2023 | Dutch version below

How do you motivate high school students to pick a certain educational track? That was one of the three questions available to answer for students in an assignment during the course Design for Science Education and Communication. Student were given free reign of how they wanted to tackle the issue, but the medium had already been decided, a live poster.

Maihly, Emma and Robert decided to answer this question and after making three different prototypes and receiving feedback from peers, they ended up with their final fun and attention-grabbing live poster that motivates high-school students to pick maths B as one of their courses. Not by talking about how fun maths B is, but rather by letting students know what popular studies they need maths B for.

Hoe motiveer je middelbare school leerlingen om een bepaald profiel te kiezen? Dat was één van de drie vragen die beschikbaar was om te beantwoorden voor studenten in een opdracht tijdens het vak Design for Science Education and Communication. Studenten mochten zelf bepalen hoe ze dit aan wilden pakken, maar het medium stond al vast, een live poster.

Maihly, Emma en Robert besloten deze vraag te beantwoorden en na drie prototypes gemaakt the hebben en feedback van mede-studenten verwerkt te hebben, kwamen ze uiteindelijk terecht bij hun definitieve leuke en opvallende live poster die middelbare school leerlingen motiveert om Wiskunde B als een van hun vakken te kiezen. Niet door te praten over hoe leuk wiskunde B is, maar door leerlingen te laten weten voor welke populaire studies ze wiskunde B nodig hebben.
