One of the international students in SEC, Alex comes from Portugal where he did a bachelors in biology. After discovering a passion for communicating science, he decided to join our programme to further develop his skills and discover new horizons within sci comm.

During the science journalism course, Alex had the opportunity to pitch and write a news story for Ukrant, after which he was invited by the newspaper’s editor to join their team. Since then, he’s been working as a freelance science writer.
